Work in Displaced People's camps and Darfur

Around the area of Nyala in South Darfur, Omdurman, Medani and Gedaref we are helping internally displaced people (IDPs) that have temporarily settled in camps. With support from the German Department for International Development (BMZ), we are working in the areas of reproductive health, HIV prevention, youth protection in the camps .

The Sudan Family Planning Association provides integrated sexual and reproductive health information and services that target internally displaced people.

It also implements advocacy activities to sensitise key decision makers to the SRH needs of internally displaced people and the importance of meeting these needs.

The programme utilises mobile clinics, peer-to-peer education strategies and advocacy initiatives that target both grassroots communities and key decision makers. An enabling and participatory methodological approach is adopted throughout the programme.
