At the 50th Anniversary of IPPF in November 2002, the Governing Council approved the new IPPF Strategic Framework that focuses on:

The sexual and reproductive health and rights of adolescents and young people;HIV / AIDS and other STI’s; Access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for all, especially the poor and marginalized;Safe abortion; and Advocacy on behalf of all these objectives.

The IPPF/AWR Strategic Plan for 2005 to 2009 is based on the IPPF framework and encompasses the five priority areas of:

• Adolescents
• AIDS and HIV
• Access
• Abortion
• Advocacy
